And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart – about all those [one] will be questioned.
(O man), follow not that whereof thou hast no knowledge. Lo! the hearing and the sight and the heart – of each of these it will be asked.
And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning).

Copy the complete claim, speaker, date, page address and surrounding sentence. Classify it provisionally as a quotation, historical statement, legal conclusion or personal advice. A short exact claim is easier to test than a general feeling about a speaker.
Pause over the source label before reading the explanation. The label tells you whether the panel is Qur’an, an authenticated report or later scholarly method. That small habit prevents an explanation from quietly taking on the status of revelation.
Keep a written distinction between the evidence itself, the explanation offered here and the conclusion you are presently entitled to repeat. That record makes later correction clear rather than embarrassing.

Mark whether the claim says “the Qur’an”, “the Prophet said”, “the Sunnah teaches”, “the sirah records” or “scholars explain”. Each label creates a different evidence requirement. An unlabeled religious sentence remains an editorial statement until its route is shown.
Precision here is a form of care. A beginner deserves a sentence that remains true when the complete source is reopened, and an advanced student deserves to see which questions still require Arabic, hadith-method or legal analysis.
Read the complete section once for understanding and a second time for source control. On the second reading, test every strong word—always, never, proves, requires or authentic—against the evidence displayed.
Do not convert “widely shared” into a source category.

Do not memorise the bold term by itself. Connect it to the evidence question it answers, the question it does not answer and the person qualified to take the investigation further. That is how vocabulary becomes a responsible study tool.
An adult guiding a child should invite the child to ask where a claim came from. Reward the careful “I do not know yet” answer whenever the source trail is incomplete.

Create separate fields for authenticity, plain meaning, context, relationship to other evidence, scholarly interpretation and application. This prevents an authenticity badge from silently becoming an obligation or a personal ruling.
A confident voice is not an extra source. Work from the exact locator, compare the full wording and retain the stated limit. If a second source changes the picture, update the note rather than defending the first impression.
If the terminology becomes difficult, return to the practical question: what is being attributed, through which evidence, according to whom, and what remains to be checked before acting?
Leave a field open rather than guessing. Name the kind of reviewer needed.

There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allāh an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allāh and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allāh often.
Verily in the messenger of Allah ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allah and the Last Day, and remembereth Allah much.
Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah.

If the explanation uses a Prophetic-life setting, name the source for the event and distinguish direct Qur’an or hadith wording from later chronological synthesis. A narrative can be helpful while still containing reports of different strengths.
For younger learners, reduce the exercise to three actions: name the source, repeat only what it actually establishes and ask before sharing uncertain words. Adults can add method, variants, context and scholarly disagreement without removing those first habits.
Save the page at the point where uncertainty begins. A useful resume point is not only a scroll position; it is the exact distinction that needs another explanation or source.
No invented dialogue, scenery, motive or exact date may be added for engagement.

This distinction protects both reverence and honesty. It allows a learner to honour Prophetic guidance without attributing an uncertain sentence to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace and blessings be upon him), and to ask sincere questions without being shamed.
Complete the task in plain language before using technical vocabulary. If the plain sentence overstates the evidence, an Arabic label or scholarly term will not repair it.

Adult companion · resource · TC-RESOURCE-026 Why the Sunnah Matters · applied resource Your role is to slow the learning down, keep the exact evidence visible and make it safe for the learner to say, “I am not sure yet.” Open the named ayah or hadith before explaining it. Tell the learner whether they are seeing Arabic revelation, a reading aid, a named translation, a hadith translation or editorial teaching. Ask one precise question and wait. If the learner struggles, point to the relevant line, narrow the choice or replay the audio before supplying the answer. Praise honest checking and careful effort. Correct the idea or sound without labelling the learner, and never turn a mistake into embarrassment. Opening words: “We are going to learn one idea carefully and see exactly where it comes from. We can pause, replay and check the source whenever we need to.” Teach one short source phrase and one meaning. Use text cards, colour bands, paths or simple geometric symbols—never a picture of اللّٰه (ALLAH) and never an image that implies His form. Let the child point, match, listen and repeat once or twice. Use two or three evidence cards and ask the learner to match each idea to its locator. Invite a short explanation in their own words, then reopen the source to correct it together. Compare the named English translations where provided. Ask what wording differs, what remains constant, and why a translation must not be called the Arabic Qur’an itself. Require a precise claim, an exact source locator and a stated boundary. Invite the learner to distinguish established meaning from inference and to mark any unresolved question for qualified review. Gentle correction: “Let us listen once more and notice where the sound begins,” protects both accuracy and confidence. Complete one task independently before adding another.
