And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart – about all those [one] will be questioned.

And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed [Our message]. So ask the people of the message [i.e., former scriptures] if you do not know.

Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr reported that his father al-Zubayr had heard Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace and blessings be upon him) warn that whoever falsely attributes a statement to him should take their seat in the Fire.
This Sahih al-Bukhari report supports careful attribution and the duty to verify a report before presenting it as Prophetic teaching.

Name the scholar, edition or attributed database source, the exact label and whether it covers a route, wording or combined evidence. Include the date accessed.
Do not memorise the bold term by itself. Connect it to the evidence question it answers, the question it does not answer and the person qualified to take the investigation further. That is how vocabulary becomes a responsible study tool.
An adult guiding a child should invite the child to ask where a claim came from. Reward the careful “I do not know yet” answer whenever the source trail is incomplete.

This distinction protects both reverence and honesty. It allows a learner to honour Prophetic guidance without attributing an uncertain sentence to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace and blessings be upon him), and to ask sincere questions without being shamed.
Complete the task in plain language before using technical vocabulary. If the plain sentence overstates the evidence, an Arabic label or scholarly term will not repair it.
Do not erase a legitimate disagreement to produce a single badge.

Tell the learner whether they are seeing Arabic revelation, a reading aid, a named translation, a hadith translation or editorial teaching. Ask one precise question and wait. If the learner struggles, point to the relevant line, narrow the choice or replay the audio before supplying the answer. Praise honest checking and careful effort. Correct the idea or sound without labelling the learner, and never turn a mistake into embarrassment. Opening words: “We are going to learn one idea carefully and see exactly where it comes from. We can pause, replay and check the source whenever we need to.” Teach one short source phrase and one meaning. Use text cards, colour bands, paths or simple geometric symbols—never a picture of اللّٰه (ALLAH) and never an image that implies His form.
