Neighbourly care, kept agreements and responsible help are not decorative extras. This mastery check tests whether you can preserve their evidence, verify harmful claims, refuse cooperation in wrongdoing and distinguish safe protection from private punishment.
1. Prepare to act without appointing yourself judge
Complete Treaties, Neighbours and Shared Civic Life and Rejecting Extremist Misuse and Individual Vigilantism. The first develops neighbourly and covenant responsibilities. The second examines verification, cooperation and the crucial boundary between seeking protection and imposing private punishment.
This resource is introductory education. It does not classify a person’s treaty status, decide a national or international legal question, instruct physical intervention or authorise surveillance. The scenarios are fictional and low-risk. If there is credible immediate danger, use appropriate emergency or safeguarding help rather than conducting a private investigation.
The mastery threshold is 100%. The result records educational progress, not qualification to issue a fatwa, determine guilt or use force. Reattempts are expected: study the feedback and repair the distinction that was missed.
Use the pathway to slow down a claim. Do not use it to investigate a real allegation by yourself.

Worship Allāh and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allāh does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful,
And serve Allah. Ascribe no thing as partner unto Him. (Show) kindness unto parents, and unto near kindred, and orphans, and the needy, and unto the neighbour who is of kin (unto you) and the neighbour who is not of kin, and the fellow-traveller and the wayfarer and (the slaves) whom your right hands possess. Lo! Allah loveth not such as are proud and boastful,
Serve Allah, and join not any partners with Him; and do good- to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbours who are near, neighbours who are strangers, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (ye meet), and what your right hands possess: For Allah loveth not the arrogant, the vainglorious;-

Qur’an 4:36 begins by commanding worship of اللّٰه (ALLAH) without associating anything with Him, then names several people toward whom good conduct is due, including near and farther neighbours. The sequence matters: tawheed and social responsibility appear together. The verse does not define every disputed boundary of “neighbour,” so the quiz does not invent one.
Sahih al-Bukhari 6014 reports that Jibril continued recommending the neighbour until the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace and blessings be upon him) thought the neighbour might be made an heir. The statement communicates the strength of the recommendation; it does not create a new inheritance share.
Sahih al-Bukhari 6018 joins non-harm to neighbours, honouring a guest and speaking good or remaining silent with belief in اللّٰه (ALLAH) and the Last Day. A learner should not reduce neighbourliness to occasional gifts while ignoring noise, harassment, dishonesty or harmful speech.
For children, practise a safe example such as returning a parcel delivered to the wrong door. An adult remains responsible for contact with an unknown person. The activity is not a request for the child to enter another home or confront unsafe behaviour.

And fulfill the covenant of Allāh when you have taken it, [O believers], and do not break oaths after their confirmation while you have made Allāh, over you, a security [i.e., witness]. Indeed, Allāh knows what you do.
Fulfil the covenant of Allah when ye have covenanted, and break not your oaths after the asseveration of them, and after ye have made Allah surety over you. Lo! Allah knoweth what ye do.
Fulfil the Covenant of Allah when ye have entered into it, and break not your oaths after ye have confirmed them; indeed ye have made Allah your surety; for Allah knoweth all that ye do.

Qur’an 16:91 commands fulfilment of the covenant of اللّٰه (ALLAH) when made and warns against breaking confirmed oaths after making اللّٰه (ALLAH) a guarantor. The lesson does not collapse every promise, appointment and complex contract into one identical legal category. It teaches the moral seriousness of commitments while referring detailed cases to qualified guidance.
Sahih al-Bukhari 3166 contains a grave warning about killing a person protected by treaty. Preserve the report’s stated protected status and its prohibition. A learner may not reverse the hadith into permission to decide who lacks protection or to enforce violence against anyone.
A school agreement, tenancy, employment contract and international treaty are not interchangeable. Each has facts and applicable rules. The safe learning habit is to read what was agreed, seek clarification before acting, and never use a general religious phrase to erase another person’s rights.
If an agreement appears to require wrongdoing, do not simply break it in secret or tell a child to solve it. Seek suitable qualified religious and legal advice, disclose the relevant facts and choose a lawful path. This page cannot decide that case.

O you who have believed, do not violate the rites of Allāh or [the sanctity of] the sacred month or [neglect the marking of] the sacrificial animals and garlanding [them] or [violate the safety of] those coming to the Sacred House seeking bounty from their Lord and [His] approval. But when you come out of iḥrām, then [you may] hunt. And do not let the hatred of a people for having obstructed you from al-Masjid al-Ḥarām lead you to transgress. And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allāh; indeed, Allāh is severe in penalty.
O ye who believe! Profane not Allah's monuments nor the Sacred Month nor the offerings nor the garlands, nor those repairing to the Sacred House, seeking the grace and pleasure of their Lord. But when ye have left the sacred territory, then go hunting (if ye will). And let not your hatred of a folk who (once) stopped your going to the inviolable place of worship seduce you to transgress; but help ye one another unto righteousness and pious duty. Help not one another unto sin and transgression, but keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is severe in punishment.
O ye who believe! Violate not the sanctity of the symbols of Allah, nor of the sacred month, nor of the animals brought for sacrifice, nor the garlands that mark out such animals, nor the people resorting to the sacred house, seeking of the bounty and good pleasure of their Lord. But when ye are clear of the sacred precincts and of pilgrim garb, ye may hunt and let not the hatred of some people in (once) shutting you out of the Sacred Mosque lead you to transgression (and hostility on your part). Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment.

Qur’an 5:2 contains pilgrimage and sacred-boundary context, forbids transgression driven by hatred, commands cooperation in righteousness and mindfulness, and forbids cooperation in sin and aggression. The cooperation clause must not be detached as though the rest of the ayah did not exist.
Sahih al-Bukhari 2444 explains helping an oppressor by preventing that person from oppression. It does not define help as cheering, concealing evidence or joining the harmful act. It also does not tell an untrained learner to use force. Prevention should use safe, proportionate and appropriate routes.
Fictional example: a friend asks you to circulate an unverified accusation “to defend the group.” Refuse to spread it, preserve any relevant evidence, and ask a responsible adult or authority for help if harm is credible. Loyalty to a friend does not mean assisting their wrongdoing.
Another example: a neighbour needs groceries but uses offensive language about Islam. Supplying ordinary practical help does not make the language true. You can maintain boundaries, avoid retaliatory insult and seek help if behaviour becomes threatening.

O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.
O ye who believe! If an evil-liver bring you tidings, verify it, lest ye smite some folk in ignorance and afterward repent of what ye did.
O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done.

Qur’an 49:6 addresses news from a specified wrongdoer and commands verification so people are not harmed in ignorance and regret follows. The course applies this concern to modern messages while keeping the verse’s wording and setting visible.
Do not use the verse to label every unknown account, mistaken person or opponent with its moral description. Verify the claim without manufacturing another accusation. Check the complete source, date, speaker, question, edits and whether the material has been taken out of context.
Verification is not public speculation. Where reputation or safety is involved, limit unnecessary spread. Save evidence securely, tell an appropriate responsible person and avoid inviting a child or vulnerable learner to investigate. If the threat is immediate, use emergency support.
A protected report is not the same as vigilantism. Reporting danger, seeking medical help, using safeguarding routes and giving truthful evidence are protective actions. Threatening, exposing private data, arranging punishment or confronting a suspected person as self-appointed judge are different actions and can increase harm.
6. Finish with a safe mastery routine
Ages 5–7: practise being considerate and telling a trusted adult about unsafe behaviour. Ages 8–11: sort “help,” “join harm” and “ask an adult.” Ages 12–15: compare an original source with a cropped claim and write a safe next step. Ages 16 and above: record source, facts, rights, risk, expertise and limits without issuing punishment.
Adults should not use dramatic real allegations as quiz material. Choose fictional, non-graphic cases and explain that the child is never responsible for investigating an adult. Praise restraint, truthful reporting and the ability to say, “I need help with this.”
Before submitting, confirm: 4:36 joins tawheed with care for neighbours; 16:91 makes covenants weighty; Bukhari 6014 does not create inheritance law; Bukhari 3166 cannot be reversed into permission to harm; 5:2 forbids cooperation in sin and aggression; 49:6 requires verification; and Bukhari 2444 defines help to an oppressor as preventing oppression.
When two duties seem to compete, do not solve the problem by erasing one. Record the neighbour’s right, the agreement, the risk and the evidence needed. A careful referral is better than an immediate answer built on missing facts.
Use the decision guide for practical study or return to the complete course.
