Anas ibn Malik reported that a man praised اللّٰه (ALLAH), affirmed that none is worthy of worship except Him, invoked Him as Al-Mannan, the Originator of the heavens and earth, the Possessor of Majesty and Honour, the Ever-Living and the Sustainer, and then asked Him. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace and blessings be upon him) said that the man had called upon اللّٰه (ALLAH) by His Great Name: when He is called by it, He answers, and when He is asked by it, He gives.
The report contains the exact definite form Al-Mannan in a direct invocation of اللّٰه (ALLAH). It is hadith evidence for the title; it does not create a Qur’anic occurrence or establish that every use of the same Arabic root has a Divine referent.
