Separation, Waiting Periods and Child Welfare · lesson 1
The Qur’an provides routes for reconciliation, but reconciliation means genuine reform and cannot be forced where danger or domination remains. A safe process distinguishes ordinary conflict from abuse, gives each person independent advice and preserves the option of dignified separation.

Ayah 4:35
A human-reviewed full transliteration is being prepared. Listen to the complete ayah and use the Arabic with a capable teacher rather than relying on an unreviewed technical conversion.

Saheeh International is the primary reading. The two named comparisons make translation choices visible; none is presented as the Arabic Qur’an itself.
And if you fear dissension between the two, send an arbitrator from his people and an arbitrator from her people. If they both desire reconciliation, Allāh will cause it between them. Indeed, Allāh is ever Knowing and Aware.
And if ye fear a breach between them twain (the man and wife), appoint an arbiter from his folk and an arbiter from her folk. If they desire amendment Allah will make them of one mind. Lo! Allah is ever Knower, Aware.
If ye fear a breach between them twain, appoint (two) arbiters, one from his family, and the other from hers; if they wish for peace, Allah will cause their reconciliation: For Allah hath full knowledge, and is acquainted with all things.

Qur’an 4:35 provides arbiters from each family when serious rupture is feared and connects success with a genuine desire for reconciliation. Confirm impartiality, competence and free participation before using the process. Read the complete evidence panel before turning the principle into advice for a real family. Separate revealed wording, explanation, recognised legal classification and the law of the place where the people live.
Read the complete evidence panel before reducing it to a step. The Arabic, named translation, source locator and explanation have different roles; preserving those roles lets a learner worship with confidence without turning a short guide into an unsupported ruling.
Keep three lines in your notes: what the source explicitly says, what this lesson explains, and what remains for qualified review. That structure makes later correction clear rather than embarrassing.
Apply the principle only after the real facts, rights, safety needs and governing law have been checked by an appropriate qualified person. This is general education, not a nikah, divorce, custody, financial, immigration or civil-law ruling. Consent must be free and informed; silence under pressure, fear, deception, incapacity or dependency is not consent. Abuse, immediate danger, child welfare, recognised fiqh differences and governing law require qualified family-law, safeguarding and legal support before indexing.
Learning move: Explain “Arbitration aims at genuine reconciliation” in plain language, identify the source, name the right protected and write the qualified referral required for a real case.

Divorced women remain in waiting [i.e., do not remarry] for three periods, and it is not lawful for them to conceal what Allāh has created in their wombs if they believe in Allāh and the Last Day. And their husbands have more right to take them back in this [period] if they want reconciliation. And due to them [i.e., the wives] is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable. But the men [i.e., husbands] have a degree over them [in responsibility and authority]. And Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise.
Women who are divorced shall wait, keeping themselves apart, three (monthly) courses. And it is not lawful for them that they should conceal that which Allah hath created in their wombs if they are believers in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands would do better to take them back in that case if they desire a reconciliation. And they (women) have rights similar to those (of men) over them in kindness, and men are a degree above them. Allah is Mighty, Wise.
Divorced women shall wait concerning themselves for three monthly periods. Nor is it lawful for them to hide what Allah Hath created in their wombs, if they have faith in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have the better right to take them back in that period, if they wish for reconciliation. And women shall have rights similar to the rights against them, according to what is equitable; but men have a degree (of advantage) over them. And Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.

Qur’an 2:228 connects the stated right of return in its context with an intention to reconcile. Do not use return as a tactic to prolong uncertainty, punishment or control. Separate revealed wording, explanation, recognised legal classification and the law of the place where the people live.
A beginner needs a usable route and an honest boundary at the same time. Learn the shared practice first, record any circumstance that changes it, and take medical, financial, disability or school-specific questions to a qualified person who can examine the real case.
Read once for meaning and a second time for boundaries. On the second reading, test strong words such as always, never, invalid and required against the complete evidence shown.
The exact divorce category and right of return require qualified case-specific classification. This is general education, not a nikah, divorce, custody, financial, immigration or civil-law ruling. Consent must be free and informed; silence under pressure, fear, deception, incapacity or dependency is not consent. And whoever does that has certainly wronged himself. And do not take the verses of Allāh in jest. And remember the favor of Allāh upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] and wisdom [i.e., the Prophet's sunnah] by which He instructs you. And fear Allāh and know that Allāh is Knowing of all things.
When ye have divorced women, and they have reached their term, then retain them in kindness or release them in kindness. Retain them not to their hurt so that ye transgress (the limits). He who doeth that hath wronged his soul. Make not the revelations of Allah a laughing-stock (by your behaviour), but remember Allah's grace upon you and that which He hath revealed unto you of the Scripture and of wisdom, whereby He doth exhort you. Observe your duty to Allah and know that Allah is Aware of all things.
When ye divorce women, and they fulfil the term of their ('Iddat), either take them back on equitable terms or set them free on equitable terms; but do not take them back to injure them, (or) to take undue advantage; if any one does that; He wrongs his own soul. Do not treat Allah's Signs as a jest, but solemnly rehearse Allah's favours on you, and the fact that He sent down to you the Book and Wisdom, for your instruction. And fear Allah, and know that Allah is well acquainted with all things.

Qur’an 2:231 commands honourable retention or release and forbids retention for harm. Measure a proposed reunion by safety, rights and concrete change rather than promises alone. Read the complete evidence panel before turning the principle into advice for a real family. Separate revealed wording, explanation, recognised legal classification and the law of the place where the people live.
Calm completeness is the goal. Repeating an action without evidence, rushing past a required distinction, or ignoring real harm can all move the learner away from careful worship. Work through the evidence once slowly, check once, and improve through reviewed teaching.
An adult guiding a child should praise careful attention and an honest “I need to ask” answer. The aim is worship with understanding, not performance for the teacher.

O ye who believe! Be steadfast witnesses for Allah in equity, and let not hatred of any people seduce you that ye deal not justly. Deal justly, that is nearer to your duty. Observe your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is Informed of what ye do.
O ye who believe! stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear Allah. For Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do.

The reconciliation passages do not require a person to remain exposed to harm. Use separate specialist assessment, a safe address and legal protection instead of joint counselling. Separate revealed wording, explanation, recognised legal classification and the law of the place where the people live.
Save the exact point that needs review. A useful learning record says what was completed, what remains uncertain, which source was checked and who should help next. That is more valuable than a confident tick beside a misunderstood step.
Explain the practice in plain language before using legal vocabulary. If the simple sentence overstates the evidence, a technical Arabic label will not repair it.

Adult companion · lesson · TC-LESSON-197 The Qur’an provides routes for reconciliation, but reconciliation means genuine reform and cannot be forced where danger or domination remains. A safe process distinguishes ordinary conflict from abuse, gives each person independent advice and preserves the option of dignified separation. Your role is to slow the learning down, keep the exact evidence visible and make it safe for the learner to say, “I am not sure yet.” Open the named ayah or hadith before explaining it. Tell the learner whether they are seeing Arabic revelation, a reading aid, a named translation, a hadith translation or editorial teaching. Ask one precise question and wait. If the learner struggles, point to the relevant line, narrow the choice or replay the audio before supplying the answer. Praise honest checking and careful effort. Correct the idea or sound without labelling the learner, and never turn a mistake into embarrassment. Opening words: “We are going to learn one idea carefully and see exactly where it comes from. We can pause, replay and check the source whenever we need to.” Teach one short source phrase and one meaning. Use text cards, colour bands, paths or simple geometric symbols—never a picture of اللّٰه (ALLAH) and never an image that implies His form. Let the child point, match, listen and repeat once or twice. Use two or three evidence cards and ask the learner to match each idea to its locator. Invite a short explanation in their own words, then reopen the source to correct it together. Compare the named English translations where provided. Ask what wording differs, what remains constant, and why a translation must not be called the Arabic Qur’an itself. Require a precise claim, an exact source locator and a stated boundary. Invite the learner to distinguish established meaning from inference and to mark any unresolved question for qualified review. Gentle correction: “Let us listen once more and notice where the sound begins,” protects both accuracy and confidence. Complete one task independently before adding another.
