Meaning in translation

Saheeh International is the primary reading. The two named comparisons make translation choices visible; none is presented as the Arabic Qur’an itself.

Primary · Saheeh International

O you who have believed, believe in Allāh and His Messenger and the Book that He sent down upon His Messenger and the Scripture which He sent down before. And whoever disbelieves in Allāh, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day has certainly gone far astray.

Compare · M. Pickthall

O ye who believe! Believe in Allah and His messenger and the Scripture which He hath revealed unto His messenger, and the Scripture which He revealed aforetime. Whoso disbelieveth in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers and the Last Day, he verily hath wandered far astray.

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

O ye who believe! Believe in Allah and His Messenger, and the scripture which He hath sent to His Messenger and the scripture which He sent to those before (him). Any who denieth Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Day of Judgment, hath gone far, far astray.

Create columns headed “revealed in the Qur’an”, “authenticated Sunnah”, “attributed explanation” and “unsupported or held”. Add a fifth note field called “exact limit”. Begin with belief in angels from 4:136. Do not copy Arabic into the worksheet; use the controlled panel and record only its verse key. A named English translation belongs under translation, not under revealed Arabic. Tafsir remains attributed commentary. This structure prevents several useful layers from being blended into one anonymous voice.

A learner-facing transliteration is deliberately withheld until the complete Arabic wording has passed assigned language review. Learn the supplication from a capable teacher rather than guessing from English letters.

Meaning in English

This is a source-bound editorial paraphrase for understanding. It is not the Arabic report and is not presented as a verbatim translation.

Editorial paraphrase

Aishah reported Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace and blessings be upon him) teaching that angels were created from light, jinn from a smokeless flame of fire, and Adam from what revelation has described.

Evidence use

Authenticated source for distinguishing the created origins of angels, jinn and Adam.

Primary · Saheeh International

For him [i.e., each one] are successive [angels] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allāh. Indeed, Allāh will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allāh intends for a people ill, there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.

Compare · M. Pickthall

For him are angels ranged before him and behind him, who guard him by Allah's command. Lo! Allah changeth not the condition of a folk until they (first) change that which is in their hearts; and if Allah willeth misfortune for a folk there is none that can repel it, nor have they a defender beside Him.

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

For each (such person) there are (angels) in succession, before and behind him: They guard him by command of Allah. Allah does not change a people's lot unless they change what is in their hearts. But when (once) Allah willeth a people's punishment, there can be no turning it back, nor will they find, besides Him, any to protect.

For each new statement ask: Does the exact source name the being, state the role and support the full wording? Is the English a named translation? Is an identification coming from attributed tafsir? Does the claim turn permission into independence? Try the method on “444 is an angelic warning”, “a bright blur is an angel” and “an angel can guarantee my request”. Each belongs outside Islamic evidence in this resource. Correct gently: the source is missing, and angelic intercession remains under Divine permission.

Assign, teach, retrieve and complete

Adults may assign the blank map without requesting private experiences. Ages 5–7 use two columns—“the source says” and “the source does not say”. Ages 8–11 add verse cards. Ages 12–15 add the source-layer label. Older learners complete all fields and explain one hold. After 24 hours, rebuild the Jibril and Angel of Death rows from memory; after seven days, test a new online claim. Completion occurs when the learner reaches the end and can explain the method. A 100% quiz result is separate. Do not store dreams, voices, safeguarding details or allegations in this worksheet; use appropriate confidential services and emergency routes when safety is at risk.

  • Every row has an exact locator.
  • Every English rendering names its layer.
  • Every role is no broader than its source.
  • Every unsupported or unresolved claim stays visibly held.

Qur’an evidence
Qur'an-primary; controlled Quran Foundation QPC Hafs panels. Named translations are visibly labelled and are not revelation. Named tafsir remains attributed commentary. Arabic, word alignment, transliteration and named translations are supplied through the separately labelled Quran Foundation panels.
Hadith evidence
Controlled authenticated record: muslim:2996. The collection and reference are preserved; a named displayed grading is not silently changed into a universal claim.
Teaching explanation
Explanatory prose, examples, diagrams and adult teaching advice are Tawheed Club editorial material. They are never presented as Qur’an, translation, tafsir or words of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace and blessings be upon him).
Release control
This item must pass source, meaning, language, editorial and release checks. Corrections remain welcome when supported by an exact source locator.

Help a learner master Authenticated Angels Evidence Map

Assignable study resource · source-boundary map Your role is to slow the learning down, keep the exact evidence visible and make it safe for the learner to say, “I am not sure yet.”

Begin with the source

Open the named ayah or hadith before explaining it. Tell the learner whether they are seeing Arabic revelation, a reading aid, a named translation, a hadith translation or editorial teaching.

Invite an answer before helping

Ask one precise question and wait. If the learner struggles, point to the relevant line, narrow the choice or replay the audio before supplying the answer.

Correct with dignity

Praise honest checking and careful effort. Correct the idea or sound without labelling the learner, and never turn a mistake into embarrassment.

01Prepare a focused session
  1. Read Authenticated Angels Evidence Map yourself and open every cited source before inviting the learner.
  2. Choose one realistic aim from the mastery statement. Do not try to teach the whole page in one sitting.
  3. Test any Arabic audio. If a sound is outside your confidence, plan to listen together and seek correction from a capable teacher.
  4. Remove distractions and decide when to stop: about 8–10 minutes for a younger child, 15–20 minutes for ages 8–11, or 20–30 minutes for an older learner.
  5. Keep paper optional. If Qur’anic text is printed, follow the respect and waste guidance shown above the ayah panel.

Opening words: “We are going to learn one idea carefully and see exactly where it comes from. We can pause, replay and check the source whenever we need to.”

02Use a source-led teaching conversation
  1. Connect: Ask what the learner already thinks the title means. Record the answer without immediately judging it.
  2. Read or listen: Open the first evidence panel or cited report. Hear the complete Arabic before isolating one word or phrase.
  3. Notice: Ask the learner to identify the exact words that support the first teaching point. A contextual word gloss is a clue; the complete named translation supplies the sentence meaning.
  4. Explain: Read the teaching paragraph. Ask, “Which part came directly from the source, and which part is the writer helping us understand?”
  5. Apply: Choose one practice task. Keep everyday examples within the boundary of the source; do not invent promises, hidden causes or rulings.
  6. Retrieve: Close the explanation and ask the learner to state the idea, evidence locator and one careful application in their own words.
03Questions for this exact resource
  • “What does Set up four evidence columns mean here, and which words or source locator support your answer (Qur'an 4:136)?”
  • “What does Build the nature row mean here, and which words or source locator support your answer (Qur'an 35:1)?”
  • “Which sentence is revelation or hadith, and which sentence is explanation?”
  • “What would be an overstatement that the cited source does not allow us to make?”
04Adapt the same truth for different ages

Ages 5–7

Teach one short source phrase and one meaning. Use text cards, colour bands, paths or simple geometric symbols—never a picture of اللّٰه (ALLAH) and never an image that implies His form. Let the child point, match, listen and repeat once or twice.

Ages 8–11

Use two or three evidence cards and ask the learner to match each idea to its locator. Invite a short explanation in their own words, then reopen the source to correct it together.

Ages 12–15

Compare the named English translations where provided. Ask what wording differs, what remains constant, and why a translation must not be called the Arabic Qur’an itself.

Ages 16+ and adults

Require a precise claim, an exact source locator and a stated boundary. Invite the learner to distinguish established meaning from inference and to mark any unresolved question for qualified review.

05Support Arabic without creating false confidence
  1. Listen to the whole ayah or supplication first.
  2. Follow the Arabic from right to left and use the word-level controls only after hearing the complete wording.
  3. Treat transliteration as temporary scaffolding. It cannot reproduce every Arabic sound.
  4. Let the learner echo a short unit, then return it to the full phrase so meaning and pronunciation remain connected.
  5. If neither of you can hear or form a sound confidently, record it for a capable Qur’an or Arabic teacher. Do not manufacture an English substitute and call it exact.

Gentle correction: “Let us listen once more and notice where the sound begins,” protects both accuracy and confidence.

06Choose one useful follow-up
  • Complete each evidence-labelled field.
  • Save or assign the resource, then revisit it after the related lessons.

Complete one task independently before adding another. Adult support should reveal the route, not hide whether the learner can use it.

07Revisit for durable mastery

After 24 hours · five minutes

  1. Ask for the central idea without showing the answer.
  2. Ask the learner to find its source locator.
  3. Replay one Arabic phrase and reconnect it to the complete meaning.
  4. Correct by reopening the source, then end with one successful retrieval.

After seven days · eight minutes

  1. Ask for the idea, source and boundary in the learner’s own words.
  2. Retry the most difficult mastery question.
  3. Apply the idea to one new but appropriate situation.
  4. Record what is secure and what needs another supported attempt.
