Do not stand [for prayer] within it – ever. A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it are men who love to purify themselves; and Allāh loves those who purify themselves.

And [also for] those who were settled in the Home [i.e.,al-Madīnah] and [adopted] the faith before them. They love those who emigrated to them and find not any want in their breasts of what they [i.e., the emigrants] were given but give [them] preference over themselves, even though they are in privation. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul – it is those who will be the successful.

The Hijrah did not end when the journey reached Madinah. Authenticated reports describe reception, settlement and practical work, while the Qur’an honours a mosque founded on reverence and describes the sacrifice of emigrants and generosity of those who received them. This lesson treats migration as worship joined to planning, lawful settlement, organised prayer and responsibility between people—not as an excuse for romantic travel or neglect of dependants.

And thus We have made you a median [i.e., just] community that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you. And We did not make the qiblah which you used to face except that We might make evident who would follow the Messenger from who would turn back on his heels. And indeed, it is difficult except for those whom Allāh has guided. And never would Allāh have caused you to lose your faith [i.e., your previous prayers]. Indeed Allāh is, to the people, Kind and Merciful.

We have certainly seen the turning of your face, [O Muḥammad ﷺ (Peace and blessings be upon him)], toward the heaven, and We will surely turn you to a qiblah with which you will be pleased. So turn your face [i.e., yourself] toward al-Masjid al-Ḥarām.1 And wherever you [believers] are, turn your faces [i.e., yourselves] toward it [in prayer]. Indeed, those who have been given the Scripture [i.e., the Jews and the Christians] well know that it is the truth from their Lord. And Allāh is not unaware of what they do.

Madinan community life cannot be reduced to institutions or politics. Revelation formed worship, direction, unity, family and neighbourly duty, promises and mutual moral responsibility. And Allāh had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing them [i.e., the enemy] by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell to disputing about the order [given by the Prophet (ﷺ)] and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love. Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then He turned you back from them [defeated] that He might test you. And He has already forgiven you, and Allāh is the possessor of bounty for the believers.

The Qur’an does not present the major Madinan encounters as entertainment. It teaches dependence upon اللّٰه(ALLAH), reassurance, obedience, testing, consequence, patience and gratitude. Authenticated reports add bounded historical detail: angelic presence at Badr, the archers’ instruction at Uhud and collective labour at the Trench. This lesson excludes graphic imagery, unsupervised tactical instruction and modern political analogy.
Sahih al-Bukhari 3992 reports honour for those present at Badr and for the angels who were present, corresponding to the unseen support described in Qur’an 8:9. Treat the unseen only as revelation and authenticated report establish it. Read every displayed Qur’an and hadith panel before reducing the account to a timeline sentence.
Calm completeness is the goal. Repeating an action without evidence, rushing past a required distinction, or ignoring real harm can all move the learner away from careful worship. Work through the evidence once slowly, check once, and improve through reviewed teaching.

Certainly has Allāh showed to His Messenger the vision [i.e., dream] in truth. You will surely enter al-Masjid al-Ḥarām, if Allāh wills, in safety, with your heads shaved and [hair] shortened, not fearing [anyone]. He knew what you did not know and has arranged before that a conquest near [at hand].

Prohibited to you are dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allāh, and [those animals] killed by strangling or by a violent blow or by a head-long fall or by the goring of horns, and those from which a wild animal has eaten, except what you [are able to] slaughter [before its death], and those which are sacrificed on stone altars, and [prohibited is] that you seek decision through divining arrows. That is grave disobedience. This day those who disbelieve have despaired of [defeating] your religion; so fear them not, but fear Me. This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islām as religion. But whoever is forced by severe hunger with no inclination to sin – then indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.

Aishah reported that after Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace and blessings be upon him) died, Abu Bakr reminded the shocked community that anyone who worshipped Muhammad must know that he had died, while اللّٰه(ALLAH) is Ever-Living and does not die, and he recited Qur’an 39:30 and 3:144.

The closing Madinan years show that what appears difficult may carry an opening known fully to اللّٰه(ALLAH). Qur’an 48 names a clear victory and a fulfilled vision; an authenticated report records patient negotiation at Al-Hudaybiyyah. Qur’an 110 answers the Opening with glorification and repentance, not self-worship. The Farewell Pilgrimage teaches sacred life, property and responsibility. The Messenger’s death then leaves the clearest Tawheed boundary: اللّٰه(ALLAH) alone is Ever-Living.
Qur’an 5:3 includes the declaration that the religion was perfected, favour completed and Islam approved as religion. Read the entire verse and label translation and tafsir questions rather than using one clause as a decorative slogan. Read every displayed Qur’an and hadith panel before reducing the account to a timeline sentence.
For a younger learner, use plain words, a visual sequence without animate imagery and one correction at a time. Adults should protect privacy, explain unfamiliar terms and never use religious teaching to shame a child.

Do not add an unsupported date, sequence, route, treaty clause, dialogue, appearance, motive, casualty count or story detail. Named translations are human renderings, not the Arabic Qur’an. Arabic, translation, tafsir, hadith wording, chronology, geography, law and disputed historical details remain open for qualified review before indexing.

The Madinan Seerah follows the mission of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace and blessings be upon him) from arrival in Madinah through community building, worship, mutual responsibility, major encounters, Al-Hudaybiyyah, the Opening of Makkah, the Farewell Pilgrimage and his death. The centre remains Tawheed. The Messenger teaches, leads and is obeyed as a human servant sent by اللّٰه(ALLAH); worship, ultimate reliance and everlasting life belong to اللّٰه(ALLAH) alone. Your role is to slow the learning down, keep the exact evidence visible and make it safe for the learner to say, “I am not sure yet.”
Begin with the source
Open the named ayah or hadith before explaining it. Tell the learner whether they are seeing Arabic revelation, a reading aid, a named translation, a hadith translation or editorial teaching.
Invite an answer before helping
Ask one precise question and wait. If the learner struggles, point to the relevant line, narrow the choice or replay the audio before supplying the answer.
Correct with dignity
Praise honest checking and careful effort. Correct the idea or sound without labelling the learner, and never turn a mistake into embarrassment.
01Prepare a focused session
Read The Madinan Seerah yourself and open every cited source before inviting the learner.
Choose one realistic aim from the mastery statement. Do not try to teach the whole page in one sitting.
Test any Arabic audio. If a sound is outside your confidence, plan to listen together and seek correction from a capable teacher.
Remove distractions and decide when to stop: about 8–10 minutes for a younger child, 15–20 minutes for ages 8–11, or 20–30 minutes for an older learner.
Keep paper optional. If Qur’anic text is printed, follow the respect and waste guidance shown above the ayah panel.
Opening words: “We are going to learn one idea carefully and see exactly where it comes from. We can pause, replay and check the source whenever we need to.”
02Use a source-led teaching conversation
Connect: Ask what the learner already thinks the title means. Record the answer without immediately judging it.
Read or listen: Open the first evidence panel or cited report. Hear the complete Arabic before isolating one word or phrase.
Notice: Ask the learner to identify the exact words that support the first teaching point. A contextual word gloss is a clue; the complete named translation supplies the sentence meaning.
Explain: Read the teaching paragraph. Ask, “Which part came directly from the source, and which part is the writer helping us understand?”
Apply: Choose one practice task. Keep everyday examples within the boundary of the source; do not invent promises, hidden causes or rulings.
Retrieve: Close the explanation and ask the learner to state the idea, evidence locator and one careful application in their own words.

04Adapt the same truth for different ages
Ages 5–7
Teach one short source phrase and one meaning. Use text cards, colour bands, paths or simple geometric symbols—never a picture of اللّٰه(ALLAH) and never an image that implies His form. Let the child point, match, listen and repeat once or twice.
Ages 8–11
Use two or three evidence cards and ask the learner to match each idea to its locator. Invite a short explanation in their own words, then reopen the source to correct it together.
Ages 12–15
Compare the named English translations where provided. Ask what wording differs, what remains constant, and why a translation must not be called the Arabic Qur’an itself.
Ages 16+ and adults
Require a precise claim, an exact source locator and a stated boundary. Invite the learner to distinguish established meaning from inference and to mark any unresolved question for qualified review.
05Support Arabic without creating false confidence
Listen to the whole ayah or supplication first.
Follow the Arabic from right to left and use the word-level controls only after hearing the complete wording.
Treat transliteration as temporary scaffolding. It cannot reproduce every Arabic sound.
Let the learner echo a short unit, then return it to the full phrase so meaning and pronunciation remain connected.
If neither of you can hear or form a sound confidently, record it for a capable Qur’an or Arabic teacher. Do not manufacture an English substitute and call it exact.
Gentle correction: “Let us listen once more and notice where the sound begins,” protects both accuracy and confidence.
