Purpose and worship · Knowledge check

Can you explain the Qur’an’s teaching about created purpose without suggesting that the Creator needs something from us? Can you explain why a helpful intention still needs an honest method? This knowledge check helps you revisit those important ideas from the first two lessons. Use the source panels as you work: careful checking is part of learning, not something to hide.

Prepare with the two lessons

Begin with Creation with Purpose, then read Worship as a Complete Way of Life. The first lesson distinguishes a chosen ambition from the larger question of created purpose. The second considers the action, the intention behind it and the relevant duty or limit. You do not need to memorise this page’s English sentences before attempting the questions.

The quiz contains twelve questions with one best answer each. Some ask what a source states; others ask how the lessons apply a principle to a clearly fictional example. Pay attention to that difference. A charger or homework scenario is not an additional verse or an incident that we claim appears in a hadith.

Keep these three verses together. One establishes the stated purpose; the following verses prevent a mistaken claim of divine dependence and affirm the Provider. A correct answer needs the passage’s connected meaning, not only a remembered fragment. When you review an answer, ask whether it preserves that connection or contradicts what follows.

One question asks you to locate the final Arabic word card in the first panel. Open its word-study area and follow the word order from right to left. Use the labelled word meanings to check your place. The verse-number marker is not counted as an Arabic word card. This is supported recognition using the source, not a test of whether you can recite without help.

Arabic remains the source text. The full named translations explain connected meaning; individual glosses help you follow the words. A gloss is not always a complete definition, and transliteration cannot represent every sound. If pronunciation is difficult, listen where verified audio is available and ask a capable reader rather than guessing from English spelling.

These panels support the questions about deeds, creation, provision and exclusive devotion to اللّٰه (ALLAH). Keep each verse’s role clear. The test concerning deeds is not an online scorecard of piety. The passage about creation and provision is not permission to attach an unsupported scientific claim. The declaration of devotion must be read with its explicit denial of a partner.

For a short review, try stating one direct source claim and one lesson application. Then explain which is which. You may say that the passage connects creation with worship, while returning a classroom item is an invented example used to discuss responsible conduct. An example can be useful without becoming revelation.

This authenticated report establishes that intention matters to the moral and worship value of an action, while also providing a controlled example in which learners can distinguish the chain, reported wording and collection reference.

Meaning in translation

Saheeh International is the primary reading. The two named comparisons make translation choices visible; none is presented as the Arabic Qur’an itself.

Primary · Saheeh International

O you who have believed, do not violate the rites of Allāh or [the sanctity of] the sacred month or [neglect the marking of] the sacrificial animals and garlanding [them] or [violate the safety of] those coming to the Sacred House seeking bounty from their Lord and [His] approval. But when you come out of iḥrām, then [you may] hunt. And do not let the hatred of a people for having obstructed you from al-Masjid al-Ḥarām lead you to transgress. And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allāh; indeed, Allāh is severe in penalty.

Compare · M. Pickthall

O ye who believe! Profane not Allah's monuments nor the Sacred Month nor the offerings nor the garlands, nor those repairing to the Sacred House, seeking the grace and pleasure of their Lord. But when ye have left the sacred territory, then go hunting (if ye will). And let not your hatred of a folk who (once) stopped your going to the inviolable place of worship seduce you to transgress; but help ye one another unto righteousness and pious duty. Help not one another unto sin and transgression, but keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is severe in punishment.

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

O ye who believe! Violate not the sanctity of the symbols of Allah, nor of the sacred month, nor of the animals brought for sacrifice, nor the garlands that mark out such animals, nor the people resorting to the sacred house, seeking of the bounty and good pleasure of their Lord. But when ye are clear of the sacred precincts and of pilgrim garb, ye may hunt and let not the hatred of some people in (once) shutting you out of the Sacred Mosque lead you to transgression (and hostility on your part). Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment.

Meaning in translation

Saheeh International is the primary reading. The two named comparisons make translation choices visible; none is presented as the Arabic Qur’an itself.

Primary · Saheeh International

Indeed, Allāh commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice. Excellent is that which Allāh instructs you. Indeed, Allāh is ever Hearing and Seeing.

Compare · M. Pickthall

Lo! Allah commandeth you that ye restore deposits to their owners, and, if ye judge between mankind, that ye judge justly. Lo! comely is this which Allah admonisheth you. Lo! Allah is ever Hearer, Seer.

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

Allah doth command you to render back your Trusts to those to whom they are due; And when ye judge between man and man, that ye judge with justice: Verily how excellent is the teaching which He giveth you! For Allah is He Who heareth and seeth all things.

The hadith panel identifies its narrator and collection and displays only the opening clauses about intention. The migration example appears in the complete linked report of Sahih al-Bukhari 1, not in the short displayed excerpt. Read the full report before answering the question about that example; do not replace it with a story from the lessons. When considering intention, reflect on what an action is for without claiming to inspect another person’s heart. The report does not provide a spoken formula for every daily movement or promise that every desired outcome will happen.

Read the full Qur’anic panels before applying their relevant principles. The prayer passage retains its danger-and-security context, and the cooperation passage retains its pilgrimage context. This quiz does not teach detailed concessions or pilgrimage rulings. The fictional homework question instead checks whether a kind aim can excuse a dishonest method.

Use feedback to improve understanding

The completion threshold is 100% of these taught questions. That means every selected answer must match the source-backed answer for this assessment. It is not a measurement of faith, sincerity, accepted worship or a person’s worth. A mistaken selection tells you which learning distinction to revisit; it does not justify a judgment about your inner state.

Read the explanation attached to your choice. Reopen the relevant source or lesson section and explain why the alternative answer fits more closely. Then try again. If a question seems unclear, identify the precise wording and reference rather than guessing what the writer intended. Your ability to justify an answer matters more than remembering its position in the list.

Support a younger learner respectfully

An adult can read the question aloud, let the learner point to a source panel and discuss one option at a time. Begin with the fictional examples if the abstract wording feels difficult, then return to the evidence. Do not supply the assessed choice while calling the attempt independent. Keep guided practice and an unaided attempt honestly distinguished.

Do not ask children to confess a real mistake or compare siblings’ spiritual standing. Let them pause and return later. If printing source panels helps, print only what is needed, avoid wasting paper and handle the Qur’anic text respectfully. Keep personal learning notes private and describe progress as understanding practised, not piety measured.

Knowledge check

Answer every question correctly

A score of 100% is required. If an answer is incorrect, review the lesson and try again without charge.

For signed-in learners, each attempt records the score, correct-answer count and time taken in the Assignments tab.
