Justice and Civic Life
Questions about Islam, peace and justice deserve more than a slogan. These articles read the Qur’anic texts on war, peace, justice and civic responsibility in their context, explain the conditions and limits the sources actually set, and address the verses most often quoted without their surrounding passages. They also set out what Islam expects of Muslims as citizens: honesty, keeping agreements, protecting the vulnerable and standing for justice even against one’s own side. The aim is an accurate account that a critic and a believer can both check against the evidence.
