Core Tawheed pathway · four lessons · two mastery checks

What this course will help you understand

Tawheed al-Uluhiyyah is the truth that worship belongs to اللّٰه (ALLAH) alone. This course turns that short sentence into careful learning. You will see what the Qur’an calls people to, how inward and outward worship connect, why du’a is not the same as every ordinary request for help, and how love, fear, hope and sincerity guide a believer.

You do not need an account to read. If you sign in, the learning system can save your scroll progress, show a resume button, record mastery attempts and let you assign the course to yourself or a linked learner. Reading to the real end completes a lesson; simply opening a page does not.

Meaning in translation

Saheeh International is the primary reading. The two named comparisons make translation choices visible; none is presented as the Arabic Qur’an itself.

Primary · Saheeh International

And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allāh and avoid ṭāghūt."1 And among them were those whom Allāh guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed [i.e., travel] through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers.

Compare · M. Pickthall

And verily We have raised in every nation a messenger, (proclaiming): Serve Allah and shun false gods. Then some of them (there were) whom Allah guided, and some of them (there were) upon whom error had just hold. Do but travel in the land and see the nature of the consequence for the deniers!

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

For We assuredly sent amongst every People a messenger, (with the Command), "Serve Allah, and eschew Evil": of the People were some whom Allah guided, and some on whom error became inevitably (established). So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth).

Inspect Qur’an 51:56 and the named translations on Quran.com

Qur’an 16:36 presents the shared call of the messengers: worship اللّٰه (ALLAH) and avoid false objects of worship. Qur’an 51:56 states the purpose for which jinn and humankind were created. The course begins with these direct statements before exploring applications. An application is clearly labelled as explanation; it is never presented as another verse.

Each ayah panel preserves the controlled QPC Hafs Arabic, names the displayed translations and keeps word-level study separate from editorial teaching. A translation communicates meaning in another language; it is not silently treated as the Arabic Qur’an itself. If two translations phrase a point differently, pause and compare rather than combining their wording into a quotation.

Your four-lesson route

  1. What Worship Means: recognise worship as humble, loving submission expressed through acts established by revelation.
  2. Du’a, Reliance and Seeking Help: separate religious invocation from lawful help through created means, and join reliance with responsible action.
  3. Love, Fear, Hope and Sincerity: learn how the heart approaches worship without despair, false guarantees or claims about another person’s inner state.
  4. Directing Every Act of Worship to the Creator: apply the evidence to prayer, sacrifice, du’a and daily intention without turning a principle into personal takfir.

How mastery works

Knowledge Check 024 follows Lessons 033–034. Knowledge Check 025 follows Lessons 035–036. Each question tests something already taught, every option explains why it is right or wrong, and mastery is 100%. A lower score is a prompt to review, not a label about faith. Signed-in learners keep their score, attempt count, time and resume state; anyone may reattempt.

The Acts of Worship Source-and-Intention Practice Guide is assignable reading and practice. It helps you name the act, source, intended recipient, created means and safe next step. It cannot read hearts or issue a ruling.

A sensible study rhythm is one lesson, a short break, retrieval without looking, and then the related practice. Return after twenty-four hours and again after seven days. Durable learning matters more than racing through all four pages in one sitting.

Important boundaries before you begin

  • Asking a present person for lawful help within created ability is not automatically worship. Qur’an 18:95 and 5:2 are studied beside Qur’an 1:5.
  • Reliance does not mean abandoning medicine, safeguarding, work or responsible planning.
  • Natural love, caution and hope are not automatically acts of worship; context and revealed meaning matter.
  • No lesson asks you to judge a named person’s heart or declare someone outside Islam.
  • Questions about disputed practices or personal circumstances need a qualified scholar who can hear the details.

Study with care, warmth and honesty

Parents and educators should teach one distinction at a time, invite questions and praise accurate reasoning. Do not ask children to search their family for wrongdoing. Use everyday, safe examples: asking a teacher to explain a task, asking a doctor for treatment, making du’a to the Creator, and using a seat belt while relying on Him. A learner in danger should contact a safe adult or appropriate emergency service; seeking protection is not weak faith.

Help a learner master Tawheed al-Uluhiyyah: Worship Belongs to اللّٰه (ALLAH) Alone

Follow a careful Qur’an-led pathway through worship, du’a, reliance, lawful created help, love, fear, hope and sincerity without word-trigger judgments or personal takfir. Your role is to slow the learning down, keep the exact evidence visible and make it safe for the learner to say, “I am not sure yet.”

Begin with the source

Open the named ayah or hadith before explaining it. Tell the learner whether they are seeing Arabic revelation, a reading aid, a named translation, a hadith translation or editorial teaching.

Invite an answer before helping

Ask one precise question and wait. If the learner struggles, point to the relevant line, narrow the choice or replay the audio before supplying the answer.

Correct with dignity

Praise honest checking and careful effort. Correct the idea or sound without labelling the learner, and never turn a mistake into embarrassment.

01Prepare a focused session
  1. Read Tawheed al-Uluhiyyah: Worship Belongs to اللّٰه (ALLAH) Alone yourself and open every cited source before inviting the learner.
  2. Choose one realistic aim from the mastery statement. Do not try to teach the whole page in one sitting.
  3. Test any Arabic audio. If a sound is outside your confidence, plan to listen together and seek correction from a capable teacher.
  4. Remove distractions and decide when to stop: about 8–10 minutes for a younger child, 15–20 minutes for ages 8–11, or 20–30 minutes for an older learner.
  5. Keep paper optional. If Qur’anic text is printed, follow the respect and waste guidance shown above the ayah panel.

Opening words: “We are going to learn one idea carefully and see exactly where it comes from. We can pause, replay and check the source whenever we need to.”

02Use a source-led teaching conversation
  1. Connect: Ask what the learner already thinks the title means. Record the answer without immediately judging it.
  2. Read or listen: Open the first evidence panel or cited report. Hear the complete Arabic before isolating one word or phrase.
  3. Notice: Ask the learner to identify the exact words that support the first teaching point. A contextual word gloss is a clue; the complete named translation supplies the sentence meaning.
  4. Explain: Read the teaching paragraph. Ask, “Which part came directly from the source, and which part is the writer helping us understand?”
  5. Apply: Choose one practice task. Keep everyday examples within the boundary of the source; do not invent promises, hidden causes or rulings.
  6. Retrieve: Close the explanation and ask the learner to state the idea, evidence locator and one careful application in their own words.
04Adapt the same truth for different ages

Ages 5–7

Teach one short source phrase and one meaning. Use text cards, colour bands, paths or simple geometric symbols—never a picture of اللّٰه (ALLAH) and never an image that implies His form. Let the child point, match, listen and repeat once or twice.

Ages 8–11

Use two or three evidence cards and ask the learner to match each idea to its locator. Invite a short explanation in their own words, then reopen the source to correct it together.

Ages 12–15

Compare the named English translations where provided. Ask what wording differs, what remains constant, and why a translation must not be called the Arabic Qur’an itself.

Ages 16+ and adults

Require a precise claim, an exact source locator and a stated boundary. Invite the learner to distinguish established meaning from inference and to mark any unresolved question for qualified review.

05Support Arabic without creating false confidence
  1. Listen to the whole ayah or supplication first.
  2. Follow the Arabic from right to left and use the word-level controls only after hearing the complete wording.
  3. Treat transliteration as temporary scaffolding. It cannot reproduce every Arabic sound.
  4. Let the learner echo a short unit, then return it to the full phrase so meaning and pronunciation remain connected.
  5. If neither of you can hear or form a sound confidently, record it for a capable Qur’an or Arabic teacher. Do not manufacture an English substitute and call it exact.

Gentle correction: “Let us listen once more and notice where the sound begins,” protects both accuracy and confidence.

06Choose one useful follow-up
  • Complete the four lessons in order.
  • Retrieve the main distinction before each mastery check.
  • Use the source-and-intention guide on safe examples.

Complete one task independently before adding another. Adult support should reveal the route, not hide whether the learner can use it.

07Revisit for durable mastery

After 24 hours · five minutes

  1. Ask for the central idea without showing the answer.
  2. Ask the learner to find its source locator.
  3. Replay one Arabic phrase and reconnect it to the complete meaning.
  4. Correct by reopening the source, then end with one successful retrieval.

After seven days · eight minutes

  1. Ask for the idea, source and boundary in the learner’s own words.
  2. Retry the most difficult mastery question.
  3. Apply the idea to one new but appropriate situation.
  4. Record what is secure and what needs another supported attempt.
