Wudu Step by Step · lesson 4
A learner needs to know when wudu ends, but a tiny viral list can mislead. This lesson begins with clear categories in the Qur’an, marks areas of recognised disagreement and gives continuous or medical conditions a proper referral route instead of false certainty.

Ayah 5:6
A human-reviewed full transliteration is being prepared. Listen to the complete ayah and use the Arabic with a capable teacher rather than relying on an unreviewed technical conversion.
Transliteration can help you begin, but it cannot reproduce every Arabic sound or replace listening, tajwid study, or correction from a capable teacher.Read from right to left. Each column keeps one Arabic word, its reading aid and its contextual gloss together. Select a word to hear it.
Saheeh International is the primary reading. The two named comparisons make translation choices visible; none is presented as the Arabic Qur’an itself.
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janābah,1 then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women2 and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. Allāh does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful.
O ye who believe! When ye rise up for prayer, wash you faces, and your hands up to the elbows, and lightly rub your heads and (wash) your feet up to the ankles. And if ye are unclean, purify yourselves. And if ye are sick or on a journey, or one of you cometh from the closet, or ye have had contact with women, and ye find not water, then go to clean, high ground and rub your faces and your hands with some of it. Allah would not place a burden on you, but He would purify you and would perfect His grace upon you, that ye may give thanks.
O ye who believe! when ye prepare for prayer, wash your faces, and your hands (and arms) to the elbows; Rub your heads (with water); and (wash) your feet to the ankles. If ye are in a state of ceremonial impurity, bathe your whole body. But if ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands, Allah doth not wish to place you in a difficulty, but to make you clean, and to complete his favour to you, that ye may be grateful.

Qur’an 5:6 mentions coming from the place of relief and sexual contact within its purification and tayammum passage, and it separately addresses major ritual impurity. The Arabic and legal interpretation of the clauses must be studied carefully rather than flattened into one translation.
Read the complete evidence panel before reducing it to a step. The Arabic, named translation, source locator and explanation have different roles; preserving those roles lets a learner worship with confidence without turning a short guide into an unsupported ruling.
Keep three lines in your notes: what the source explicitly says, what this lesson explains, and what remains for qualified review. That structure makes later correction clear rather than embarrassing.
This lesson does not claim that an English phrase settles every school’s invalidator rule. This resource teaches a careful shared route. Detailed legal classification, school-specific minimums, unusual circumstances and personalised medical or disability cases remain assigned to qualified review before indexing.
Learning move: Highlight the named circumstances and keep translation and fiqh notes separate.

The Qur’anic passages distinguish ordinary ablution, full purification and tayammum. A condition requiring ghusl is not solved merely by repeating wudu, and loss of wudu does not automatically require a full bath.
A beginner needs a usable route and an honest boundary at the same time. Learn the shared practice first, record any circumstance that changes it, and take medical, disability or school-specific questions to a qualified person who can examine the real case.
Read once for meaning and a second time for boundaries. On the second reading, test strong words such as always, never, invalid and required against the complete evidence shown.
Triggers, terminology and personal cases require qualified instruction. This resource teaches a careful shared route. Detailed legal classification, school-specific minimums, unusual circumstances and personalised medical or disability cases remain assigned to qualified review before indexing.
Learning move: Create separate fields for wudu, ghusl and tayammum referral.

Legal discussions distinguish kinds and depth of sleep, posture and loss of awareness. A beginner should not declare that every moment of drowsiness invalidates wudu or that no sleep ever does. Record what happened and follow a reviewed school route.
Calm completeness is the goal. Repeating an action without evidence, rushing past a required area, or forcing the body through pain can all move the learner away from careful worship. Practise once slowly, check once, and improve through observed teaching.
An adult guiding a child should praise careful attention and an honest “I need to ask” answer. The aim is worship with understanding, not performance for the teacher.
A full evidence matrix and qualified fiqh review are required before indexing. This resource teaches a careful shared route. Detailed legal classification, school-specific minimums, unusual circumstances and personalised medical or disability cases remain assigned to qualified review before indexing.
Learning move: Rewrite “sleep breaks wudu” as a question that records depth, posture and awareness.

Urine, stool and wind sit within clear ordinary discussions, while blood, vomiting, touching another person or touching private parts contain recognised differences in evidence and school conclusions. Present them in a matrix that names the school and source, not one red universal list.
For a younger learner, use plain words, a visual sequence without animate imagery and one correction at a time. Adults should protect privacy, ask before helping physically and never use purification or prayer teaching to shame a child.
If terminology becomes difficult, return to the practical question: what is the learner preparing to do, which step is established here, and what fact about the person or situation could change the answer?

A learner who knows an invalidating event occurred is not in the same position as someone with only a vague feeling after a complete wudu. Do not manufacture certainty. Record the actual fact and use the reviewed legal principle supplied by a qualified teacher.
Distinguish a revealed command, an authenticated Prophetic demonstration and a later legal classification. They work together, but they are not interchangeable. Where recognised schools differ, this resource labels the difference instead of presenting one view as the only Islam.
A resume point can preserve more than scroll position. Save the last completed step, the unresolved question and the next safe action so the learner can continue without unnecessary repetition.

Continence conditions, ongoing bleeding or discharge, stomas and medical devices can change timing, cleaning and prayer preparation. A general webpage should gather accurate facts and direct the learner to qualified fiqh and clinical care, not force endless washing or delayed prayer.
Save the exact point that needs review. A useful learning record says what was completed, what remains uncertain, which source was checked and who should help next. That is more valuable than a confident tick beside a misunderstood step.
Explain the practice in plain language before using legal vocabulary. If the simple sentence overstates the evidence, a technical Arabic label will not repair it.
Private, person-specific review is required; no diagnosis is made here. This resource teaches a careful shared route. Detailed legal classification, school-specific minimums, unusual circumstances and personalised medical or disability cases remain assigned to qualified review before indexing.

This lesson begins with clear categories in the Qur’an, marks areas of recognised disagreement and gives continuous or medical conditions a proper referral route instead of false certainty. Your role is to slow the learning down, keep the exact evidence visible and make it safe for the learner to say, “I am not sure yet.” Open the named ayah or hadith before explaining it. Tell the learner whether they are seeing Arabic revelation, a reading aid, a named translation, a hadith translation or editorial teaching. Ask one precise question and wait. If the learner struggles, point to the relevant line, narrow the choice or replay the audio before supplying the answer. Praise honest checking and careful effort. Correct the idea or sound without labelling the learner, and never turn a mistake into embarrassment. Opening words: “We are going to learn one idea carefully and see exactly where it comes from. We can pause, replay and check the source whenever we need to.” Teach one short source phrase and one meaning. Use text cards, colour bands, paths or simple geometric symbols—never a picture of اللّٰه (ALLAH) and never an image that implies His form. Let the child point, match, listen and repeat once or twice. Use two or three evidence cards and ask the learner to match each idea to its locator. Invite a short explanation in their own words, then reopen the source to correct it together. Compare the named English translations where provided. Ask what wording differs, what remains constant, and why a translation must not be called the Arabic Qur’an itself. Require a precise claim, an exact source locator and a stated boundary. Invite the learner to distinguish established meaning from inference and to mark any unresolved question for qualified review. Gentle correction: “Let us listen once more and notice where the sound begins,” protects both accuracy and confidence. Complete one task independently before adding another.
