Sharing Islam with Wisdom · Knowledge check

A clear explanation can be both truthful and considerate. An honest answer can include something you do not yet know. This knowledge check brings those habits together: offering an invitation without pressure, explaining disagreement without insult and checking a claim before passing it on. Take your time with the sources and let the feedback help you improve your next answer.

1. Prepare with the two lessons

Read Clear Invitation without Pressure and Knowing When to Say I Do Not Know before starting. There are twelve questions with one best answer each. Some concern what a verse actually states; others ask you to apply a distinction to a fictional conversation. The stories are learning examples, not authenticated historical events.

You may reopen a lesson or source panel while answering. Notice what the question asks you to establish. It may ask about your own observable conduct, but it never asks you to decide another person’s inward belief. A respectful invitation is not a technique that guarantees agreement. The task is to understand the teaching and recognise where an answer adds an unsupported claim.

2. Offer an invitation that leaves room for an answer

Meaning in translation

Saheeh International is the primary reading. The two named comparisons make translation choices visible; none is presented as the Arabic Qur’an itself.

Primary · Saheeh International

There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become distinct from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in ṭāghūt and believes in Allāh has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allāh is Hearing and Knowing.

Compare · M. Pickthall

There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower.

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.

Read the complete verse, keeping its statement about compulsion alongside its distinction between guidance and error. The lesson does not ask you to choose between pressuring a listener and pretending that all beliefs teach the same thing. It asks how you can explain clearly while allowing a person to decline a conversation.

Sara’s busy-colleague example is fictional. The colleague needs to return to a task. Sara can acknowledge the limit and offer a public source link if wanted. She has no evidence that the interruption reveals the colleague’s final view of religion. The exercise concerns considerate communication; it does not decide every workplace rule or historical legal question about coercion.

And do not insult those they invoke other than Allāh, lest they insult Allāh in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made pleasing to every community their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them about what they used to do.

Compare · M. Pickthall

Revile not those unto whom they pray beside Allah lest they wrongfully revile Allah through ignorance. Thus unto every nation have We made their deed seem fair. Then unto their Lord is their return, and He will tell them what they used to do.

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

Revile not ye those whom they call upon besides Allah, lest they out of spite revile Allah in their ignorance. Thus have We made alluring to each people its own doings. In the end will they return to their Lord, and We shall then tell them the truth of all that they did.

The first panel joins invitation with wisdom, good instruction and the best manner of discussion. Its conclusion also keeps knowledge of guidance with the Lord. The second prohibits insulting what others invoke and identifies the retaliatory insult that can follow. These passages help us examine our conduct without making us judges of a listener’s heart.

In Imran’s fictional discussion, an audience wants a more aggressive video while the questioner declines filming. Returning to calm explanation or ending the exchange respects that limit. More views would not establish that an insult was wise. Our advice about filming and sharing is responsible communication practice, not a complete statement of privacy law or a promise that every setting has identical rules.

If an exchange becomes threatening or abusive, this lesson does not require you to remain in it to demonstrate commitment. Suitable reporting and safeguarding support may be needed. For children, trusted adults should arrange appropriate learning conversations; private contact with strangers is never an assignment in this course.

Read the verse’s instruction about following without knowledge and its reference to accountability. Now consider Bilal’s fictional quotation image. Recognising a sentence tells him that it is familiar. It does not authenticate its attribution as a hadith. Equally, failing to find its source immediately is not the same as proving it fabricated.

A useful response identifies the actual gap: he has seen the sentence but has not verified the attribution. If a reference is later supplied, he should check whether it contains the claimed wording and seek appropriate help with the report’s status. This quiz names no such report and authenticates none. The example teaches honest source boundaries, not independent hadith grading from a search result.

The verse includes attributing to اللّٰه (ALLAH) what one does not know among its prohibitions. Grand language does not supply missing evidence. Nor does uncertainty justify inventing a restriction just to sound cautious. A source, its interpretation and a particular application can raise different questions.

In Amina’s fictional study group, knowing a general principle does not equip her to decide a complicated personal dispute. She can state the known point, acknowledge the missing facts or competence and suggest suitable qualified guidance. She should not gather sensitive details in front of the class to appear helpful. These practical boundaries are educational applications, not a newly prescribed research ritual.

When a claim has already been shared and a genuine error is established, correct the specific point with its supporting reference. Quietly changing the wording may leave earlier readers relying on the mistake. Correction should clarify the issue without turning the original post or its author into a spectacle.

6. Use each answer to build a better learning habit

Read all the feedback for a question you missed. Ask which word in an option made it too broad: perhaps it promised an outcome, judged an intention or confused an unverified claim with a disproved one. For younger learners, an adult can read a fictional situation aloud and discuss one choice at a time. Older learners can explain what is known, what remains unknown and which next step fits.

There is no need to act out insults, disclose private experiences or approach strangers. A pause for clarification is welcome. The passing score is 100%, meaning all twelve taught answers are correct on that attempt. It is not a measurement of faith or authority to issue religious rulings. Review and retry as needed, then return to Sharing Islam with Wisdom to revisit the lesson that helps you most.
