Then will you take him and his descendants as allies other than Me while they are enemies to you? Wretched it is for the wrongdoers as an exchange.

Will ye choose him and his seed for your protecting friends instead of Me, when they are an enemy unto you? Calamitous is the exchange for evil-doers.

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

Behold! We said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam": They bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the Jinns, and he broke the Command of his Lord. Will ye then take him and his progeny as protectors rather than Me? And they are enemies to you! Evil would be the exchange for the wrong-doers!

Learning move: A correct choice names only what the panels provide: created origin, hearing revelation, moral variation and Iblis’s category. It will not add appearance, hierarchy, location or a method for identifying individual jinn. Before answering, say which verse supplies each fact and leave every unsupported descriptive field empty.

Qur’an 14:22 distinguishes invitation from compulsion, while 35:6 describes Shaytan as an enemy. Correct answers keep temptation real, personal responsibility meaningful and protection directed to اللّٰه (ALLAH). They do not turn an unwanted thought into a chosen act.

Learning move: Temptation can be serious without becoming irresistible force. When a scenario includes wrongdoing, the answer should preserve personal repair; when it includes an unwanted thought, it should avoid treating awareness as consent.

Primary · Saheeh International

And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a clear record.

Compare · M. Pickthall

And with Him are the keys of the Invisible. None but He knoweth them. And He knoweth what is in the land and the sea. Not a leaf falleth but He knoweth it, not a grain amid the darkness of the earth, naught of wet or dry but (it is noted) in a clear record.

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a record clear (to those who can read).

Inspect Qur’an 72:6 and the named translations on Quran.com

Qur’an 6:59 places the keys of the unseen with the Creator, and 27:65 denies independent unseen knowledge to created beings. Qur’an 72:6 warns against seeking refuge in jinn. The assessment rejects fortune-telling, alleged spirit messages, created unseen dependence and confident paranormal identification. A confident claimant does not inherit prophetic authority.

Learning move: A messenger’s disclosed revelation is not a licence for later claimants. Dreams, fortune-tellers and alleged spirit messages remain outside the course unless an authoritative source independently establishes the exact claim.

Respond safely to distress

A scenario about a nightmare, seizure, voice, fear or family conflict is not a possession test. The best answer protects safety, uses ordinary and professional help where relevant, allows lawful spiritual support and refuses secrecy, unsafe touching or abandonment of treatment.

Learning move: Safety outranks curiosity. A correct response never delays urgent care to conduct an amateur unseen investigation. It also rejects coercion, secrecy, exploitation and any instruction to abandon prescribed treatment. If danger is immediate, the learning activity ends and appropriate emergency or safeguarding support becomes the next action.

Use every feedback message

All four options have a different explanation and exact return locator. Read them even when correct. A 100% score measures these limited source and safety distinctions; it does not authorise diagnosis, ruqyah practice or claims about hidden beings.

Learning move: Read why each distractor fails: one may add folklore, another may give creation independent power, and another may erase ordinary causes. Learning these failure patterns is part of mastery.

Teach mixed ages without horror

Children should receive calm text-led facts and practical refuge, not frightening stories or threats. Older learners can classify claims as explicit, inferred or uncertain. Adults must model “I do not know” and refer complex religious, medical or safeguarding questions appropriately.

Learning move: Adults should use neutral scenarios and never ask learners to reveal frightening experiences publicly. Children may have questions read aloud, but no animation, sound effect or story should make unseen beings a source of entertainment or fear. Offer a pause and private support route, because completing a quiz is never more important than wellbeing.

Qur'an-primary; controlled Quran Foundation QPC Hafs panels. Named translations are visibly labelled and are not revelation. Named tafsir remains attributed commentary. Arabic, word alignment, transliteration and named translations are supplied through the separately labelled Quran Foundation panels.
Hadith evidence
No hadith quotation or paraphrase is used in this resource. The collection and reference are preserved; a named displayed grading is not silently changed into a universal claim.

Help a learner master Jinn, Shaytan and Source Boundaries: Mastery Check

Jinn, Shaytan and source boundaries · mastery check Your role is to slow the learning down, keep the exact evidence visible and make it safe for the learner to say, “I am not sure yet.”

Begin with the source

Open the named ayah or hadith before explaining it. Tell the learner whether they are seeing Arabic revelation, a reading aid, a named translation, a hadith translation or editorial teaching.

Invite an answer before helping

Ask one precise question and wait. If the learner struggles, point to the relevant line, narrow the choice or replay the audio before supplying the answer.

Correct with dignity

Praise honest checking and careful effort. Correct the idea or sound without labelling the learner, and never turn a mistake into embarrassment.

01Prepare a focused session
  1. Read Jinn, Shaytan and Source Boundaries: Mastery Check yourself and open every cited source before inviting the learner.
  2. Choose one realistic aim from the mastery statement. Do not try to teach the whole page in one sitting.
  3. Test any Arabic audio. If a sound is outside your confidence, plan to listen together and seek correction from a capable teacher.
  4. Remove distractions and decide when to stop: about 8–10 minutes for a younger child, 15–20 minutes for ages 8–11, or 20–30 minutes for an older learner.
  5. Keep paper optional. If Qur’anic text is printed, follow the respect and waste guidance shown above the ayah panel.

Opening words: “We are going to learn one idea carefully and see exactly where it comes from. We can pause, replay and check the source whenever we need to.”

02Use a source-led teaching conversation
  1. Connect: Ask what the learner already thinks the title means. Record the answer without immediately judging it.
  2. Read or listen: Open the first evidence panel or cited report. Hear the complete Arabic before isolating one word or phrase.
  3. Notice: Ask the learner to identify the exact words that support the first teaching point. A contextual word gloss is a clue; the complete named translation supplies the sentence meaning.
  4. Explain: Read the teaching paragraph. Ask, “Which part came directly from the source, and which part is the writer helping us understand?”
  5. Apply: Choose one practice task. Keep everyday examples within the boundary of the source; do not invent promises, hidden causes or rulings.
  6. Retrieve: Close the explanation and ask the learner to state the idea, evidence locator and one careful application in their own words.
03Questions for this exact resource
  • “What does Read what revelation explicitly establishes mean here, and which words or source locator support your answer (Qur'an 55:15)?”
  • “What does Keep Shaytan's influence within its limit mean here, and which words or source locator support your answer (Qur'an 72:1)?”
  • “Which sentence is revelation or hadith, and which sentence is explanation?”
  • “What would be an overstatement that the cited source does not allow us to make?”
04Adapt the same truth for different ages

Ages 5–7

Teach one short source phrase and one meaning. Use text cards, colour bands, paths or simple geometric symbols—never a picture of اللّٰه (ALLAH) and never an image that implies His form. Let the child point, match, listen and repeat once or twice.

Ages 8–11

Use two or three evidence cards and ask the learner to match each idea to its locator. Invite a short explanation in their own words, then reopen the source to correct it together.

Ages 12–15

Compare the named English translations where provided. Ask what wording differs, what remains constant, and why a translation must not be called the Arabic Qur’an itself.

Ages 16+ and adults

Require a precise claim, an exact source locator and a stated boundary. Invite the learner to distinguish established meaning from inference and to mark any unresolved question for qualified review.

05Support Arabic without creating false confidence
  1. Listen to the whole ayah or supplication first.
  2. Follow the Arabic from right to left and use the word-level controls only after hearing the complete wording.
  3. Treat transliteration as temporary scaffolding. It cannot reproduce every Arabic sound.
  4. Let the learner echo a short unit, then return it to the full phrase so meaning and pronunciation remain connected.
  5. If neither of you can hear or form a sound confidently, record it for a capable Qur’an or Arabic teacher. Do not manufacture an English substitute and call it exact.

Gentle correction: “Let us listen once more and notice where the sound begins,” protects both accuracy and confidence.

06Choose one useful follow-up
  • Answer all twelve questions.
  • Use the answer-specific feedback and exact source locators before retrying until 100% mastery.

Complete one task independently before adding another. Adult support should reveal the route, not hide whether the learner can use it.

07Revisit for durable mastery

After 24 hours · five minutes

  1. Ask for the central idea without showing the answer.
  2. Ask the learner to find its source locator.
  3. Replay one Arabic phrase and reconnect it to the complete meaning.
  4. Correct by reopening the source, then end with one successful retrieval.

After seven days · eight minutes

  1. Ask for the idea, source and boundary in the learner’s own words.
  2. Retry the most difficult mastery question.
  3. Apply the idea to one new but appropriate situation.
  4. Record what is secure and what needs another supported attempt.

Answer every question correctly

A score of 100% is required. If an answer is incorrect, review the lesson and try again without charge.
