Meaning in translation

Saheeh International is the primary reading. The two named comparisons make translation choices visible; none is presented as the Arabic Qur’an itself.

Primary · Saheeh International

O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allāh, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allāh is ever, over you, an Observer.

Compare · M. Pickthall

O mankind! Be careful of your duty to your Lord Who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate and from them twain hath spread abroad a multitude of men and women. Be careful of your duty toward Allah in Whom ye claim (your rights) of one another, and toward the wombs (that bore you). Lo! Allah hath been a watcher over you.

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, His mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women;- reverence Allah, through whom ye demand your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (That bore you): for Allah ever watches over you.

Qur’an 33:35 explicitly pairs men and women across major qualities of faith and promises forgiveness and great reward.

Each gold Qur’an panel uses the locked Uthmani Arabic catalogue and separately named English translations. The page keeps direct Qur’anic teaching, authentic hadith, qualified interpretation, current law, safeguarding guidance and Tawheed Club’s educational explanation in separate categories. A translation is not the Arabic Qur’an, a cultural expectation is not revelation, and a general webpage cannot decide an individual marriage, legal dispute or safeguarding case.

Dignity boundary: men and women are created servants of اللّٰه (ALLAH), morally accountable to Him and never objects of worship. Honour is not measured by sex, ethnicity, wealth, disability, marital status, fertility, occupation or conformity to a stereotype. The Qur’an may assign or discuss particular responsibilities without permitting contempt, exploitation or denial of an established right.

A 100% score shows command of this introductory framework. It does not qualify a learner to calculate inheritance, issue a divorce ruling, interpret Qur’an 4:34 independently or manage an abuse case.

For adults teaching children: teach dignity, permission, privacy, kind speech and safe disclosure through fictional, age-appropriate examples. Never ask a child to judge adult marital conflict, carry messages between adults or keep abuse secret. Give every child at least two trusted adults and a simple phrase such as “I need help and I do not feel safe.” Respond calmly, believe the need for protection and use the proper safeguarding route.

Primary · Saheeh International

The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakāh and obey Allāh and His Messenger. Those – Allāh will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise.

Compare · M. Pickthall

And the believers, men and women, are protecting friends one of another; they enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and they establish worship and they pay the poor-due, and they obey Allah and His messenger. As for these, Allah will have mercy on them. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Wise.

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

The Believers, men and women, are protectors one of another: they enjoin what is just, and forbid what is evil: they observe regular prayers, practise regular charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. On them will Allah pour His mercy: for Allah is Exalted in power, Wise.

Qur’an 9:71 calls believing women and men allies in righteousness, worship and obedience. The quiz tests active mutual responsibility rather than passive stereotypes.

Questions distinguish a direct rule, a defined role, a biological fact, an average, culture and one person’s capacity. A true statement in one category can become false when relabelled as revelation or universalised without evidence.

Where an answer depends on current law, medical knowledge or an individual contract, the correct action is qualified referral rather than confident generalisation.

Evidence practice: write the exact claim, then label its source: Qur’an, authentic hadith, qualified fiqh, verified biological or social evidence, local law, family custom or personal preference. Ask whether the statement addresses every person, an average, a defined role or one case. Open the complete source, retain conditions and recognised disagreement, and name the qualified person responsible for applying it. This prevents revelation from being mixed with assumptions and prevents a slogan from deciding someone’s rights or safety.

3. Modesty begins with accountable conduct

And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allāh in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.

And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment save to their own husbands or fathers or husbands' fathers, or their sons or their husbands' sons, or their brothers or their brothers' sons or sisters' sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack vigour, or children who know naught of women's nakedness. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And turn unto Allah together, O believers, in order that ye may succeed.

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah, that ye may attain Bliss.

Qur’an 24:31 commands believing women concerning gaze, chastity and adornment in a detailed verse. Recognition questions use the complete panel and named translations.

Correct answers reject harassment, spying, public humiliation and victim-blame. Detailed dress and interaction rulings remain matters for qualified scholarship.

Meaning in translation

Saheeh International is the primary reading. The two named comparisons make translation choices visible; none is presented as the Arabic Qur’an itself.

Primary · Saheeh International

O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back] part of what you gave them unless they commit a clear immorality [i.e., adultery]. And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them – perhaps you dislike a thing and Allāh makes therein much good.

Compare · M. Pickthall

O ye who believe! It is not lawful for you forcibly to inherit the women (of your deceased kinsmen), nor (that) ye should put constraint upon them that ye may take away a part of that which ye have given them, unless they be guilty of flagrant lewdness. But consort with them in kindness, for if ye hate them it may happen that ye hate a thing wherein Allah hath placed much good.

Compare · A. Yusuf Ali

O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness, that ye may Take away part of the dower ye have given them,-except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and Allah brings about through it a great deal of good.

Open Qur’an 4:19 and the named translations on Quran.com

Qur’an 4:19 forbids taking women against their will, forbids financial pressure in the named setting and commands recognised kindness. The quiz applies the direct boundary without inventing case facts.

Sahih al-Bukhari 5136, Sahih Muslim 2328a, Sunan Abi Dawud 2146 and Sahih al-Bukhari 2444 form the authentic hadith evidence for consent, Prophetic conduct, complaints and stopping oppression.

Qur’an 4:34 boundary: the verse must be read completely, in Arabic and translation, with its sequence, limits, Prophetic practice and qualified interpretation. It cannot honestly be used as a blank permission for assault, injury, humiliation, coercive control, sexual violence, punishment for independence or obstruction of professional help. Scholars discuss the meaning and legal application of its final disciplinary term; the course records the evidence and safety boundary without pretending that every interpretation is identical.

Safeguarding boundary: physical or sexual violence, threats, stalking, forced marriage, reproductive coercion, economic abuse, isolation, faith-based intimidation and patterns of controlling behaviour are not ordinary disagreements to be solved by a worksheet. Immediate danger requires local emergency help. A person seeking safety should contact a trusted specialist service, healthcare professional, safeguarding lead or police route appropriate to their country. Do not alert an alleged perpetrator, mediate a high-risk case or store a survivor’s plan where it can be found.

5. Attempts, feedback and saved progress

Answer all twelve questions. Signed-in learners have started time, completion time, score, pass or fail state and attempt count stored in the dashboard. Mastery requires 100%; an incorrect attempt remains visible so progress is truthful.

Read feedback after correct answers too. Explain why every distractor fails: it may erase context, turn culture into revelation, confuse mediation with safeguarding or present current England law as universal Islamic law.

Adults may assign the quiz to themselves or a linked child account with an optional deadline. Results should support teaching, never shame a learner or expose family difficulties.

6. Completion and safe next steps

After mastery, use the Family Dignity, Modesty and Safety Conversation Workbook with fictional or low-risk examples first.

Do not complete a joint relationship exercise where one person is afraid of the other. Use a confidential specialist route, and avoid leaving browsing history or notes on a monitored device.

Return to the course whenever an answer was guessed. The objective is truthful worship and justice, not merely passing.

For every answer, state the source category and the right or safety interest protected. Reattempt until you can explain why a plausible distractor is wrong, not merely recall its position.

Arabic recognition identifies wording inside the complete verse panel. It is not independent tafsir. Use the named translation and a qualified teacher for pronunciation and interpretation.

A perfect score never authorises mediation in abuse, inheritance calculation or a personal ruling on Qur’an 4:34. Serious cases require the correct scholar, lawyer, healthcare professional or safeguarding service.

Completion checkpoint: identify the exact evidence, its source category, the scope of the claim, the right or responsibility involved and any safety risk. Confirm that no family custom has been called revelation, no difference has been turned into contempt, no modesty rule has been used to blame a victim and no difficult verse has been used to block lawful protection. Where facts or authority are missing, document the question and refer safely.
