Parents, Kinship, Neighbours, Ageing, Death and Bereavement · lesson 1
The Qur’an commands excellent treatment of parents, especially in old age, and remembers the burden of a mother’s care. The same Qur’an says not to obey parents when they strive to make a person associate partners with the Creator, while still accompanying them kindly. Respect is therefore deep but not unlimited obedience.

Ayah 17:23
A human-reviewed full transliteration is being prepared. Listen to the complete ayah and use the Arabic with a capable teacher rather than relying on an unreviewed technical conversion.
Transliteration can help you begin, but it cannot reproduce every Arabic sound or replace listening, tajwid study, or correction from a capable teacher.Read from right to left. Each column keeps one Arabic word, its reading aid and its contextual gloss together. Select a word to hear it.
Saheeh International is the primary reading. The two named comparisons make translation choices visible; none is presented as the Arabic Qur’an itself.
And your Lord has decreed that you worship not except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.
Thy Lord hath decreed, that ye worship none save Him, and (that ye show) kindness to parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age with thee, say not "Fie" unto them nor repulse them, but speak unto them a gracious word.
Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honour.

Qur’an 17:23 commands worship of the Creator alone and excellent treatment of parents, forbidding even a small expression of contempt when they reach old age. Use respectful words, time and practical help while noticing access, fatigue and dignity. Read the complete evidence panel and keep the revealed wording, explanation, practical method and qualified application visibly distinct.
Read the complete evidence panel before reducing it to a step. The Arabic, named translation, source locator and explanation have different roles; preserving those roles lets a learner worship with confidence without turning a short guide into an unsupported ruling.
Keep three lines in your notes: what the source explicitly says, what this lesson explains, and what remains for qualified review. That structure makes later correction clear rather than embarrassing.
Respectful speech does not require remaining in immediate danger or concealing abuse, neglect, fraud or coercion. This is general education, not a personal medical, mental-health, safeguarding, funeral, family-law or civil-law ruling. Abuse, immediate danger, a child or adult-welfare concern, impaired capacity, severe distress and governing local law require appropriate qualified or emergency support before indexing.
Learning move: Explain “Speak respectfully when parents reach old age” in plain language, name its source, write one safe practice and identify any referral boundary.

Qur’an 17:24 commands a humble wing of mercy and a prayer remembering parental care in childhood. Offer help in a way that preserves the parent’s agency rather than treating the person as a task. Read the complete evidence panel and keep the revealed wording, explanation, practical method and qualified application visibly distinct.
A beginner needs a usable route and an honest boundary at the same time. Learn the shared practice first, record any circumstance that changes it, and take medical, financial, disability or school-specific questions to a qualified person who can examine the real case.
Read once for meaning and a second time for boundaries. On the second reading, test strong words such as always, never, invalid and required against the complete evidence shown.

Qur’an 31:14 recalls pregnancy in weakness upon weakness and weaning in two years while commanding gratitude. Acknowledge care and sacrifice without turning gratitude into silence about present harm. Calm completeness is the goal. Repeating an action without evidence, rushing past a required distinction, or ignoring real harm can all move the learner away from careful worship. Work through the evidence once slowly, check once, and improve through reviewed teaching.

Qur’an 31:15 and 29:8 set a clear limit against obeying parental pressure towards shirk, while 31:15 still commands good worldly companionship. Adult companion · lesson · TC-LESSON-205 The Qur’an commands excellent treatment of parents, especially in old age, and remembers the burden of a mother’s care. The same Qur’an says not to obey parents when they strive to make a person associate partners with the Creator, while still accompanying them kindly. Respect is therefore deep but not unlimited obedience. Your role is to slow the learning down, keep the exact evidence visible and make it safe for the learner to say, “I am not sure yet.” Open the named ayah or hadith before explaining it. Tell the learner whether they are seeing Arabic revelation, a reading aid, a named translation, a hadith translation or editorial teaching. Ask one precise question and wait. If the learner struggles, point to the relevant line, narrow the choice or replay the audio before supplying the answer. Praise honest checking and careful effort. Correct the idea or sound without labelling the learner, and never turn a mistake into embarrassment. Opening words: “We are going to learn one idea carefully and see exactly where it comes from. We can pause, replay and check the source whenever we need to.” Teach one short source phrase and one meaning. Use text cards, colour bands, paths or simple geometric symbols—never a picture of اللّٰه (ALLAH) and never an image that implies His form. Let the child point, match, listen and repeat once or twice. Use two or three evidence cards and ask the learner to match each idea to its locator. Invite a short explanation in their own words, then reopen the source to correct it together. Compare the named English translations where provided. Ask what wording differs, what remains constant, and why a translation must not be called the Arabic Qur’an itself. Require a precise claim, an exact source locator and a stated boundary. Invite the learner to distinguish established meaning from inference and to mark any unresolved question for qualified review. Gentle correction: “Let us listen once more and notice where the sound begins,” protects both accuracy and confidence. Complete one task independently before adding another. Adult support should reveal the route, not hide whether the learner can use it.See exactly where this resource comes fromQur’an, authentic hadith and editorial boundaries are kept distinct
